Artist’s Statement
My painting has the theme of meeting East and West, adding Western material and colors to the Oriental beauty of Black and White.
The White color symbolizes cleanliness. and the black represents my improvisational feeling and movement. Decorated with the style and color of Western art, the harmony of East and Western beauty was expressed.
Through my paintings, I want to let people know that there is no longer a boundary between East and West in contemporary art.
About
Jinkyoung Kim is Korean-Canadian Artist based in Toronto. According to her Catholic name 'Maria', she is also called Marie. Since she migrated to Canada in 2013, she has been working with various styles of art that present her expression, fashion, and life.
Education
She graduated from Catholic University with a degree in classical piano music. and studied Fashion at Kookje fashion school in Seoul.
After moving to Canada, she took various art classes with the TSA (Toronto school of Art)
Currently, She is a certified member of CMA (Canada Music Academy) as a piano instructor.
